Hub Zero, the region’s first immersive gaming hub by Meraas, opened its doors this month. The one of its kind gaming destination features a slew of sensory offerings such as rides, games, attractions, fantasy, action, and sports games recreated into thrilling and innovative gaming experiences. The 15,000 sq m gaming zone comprises exclusive Hub Zero attractions such as: the Hyper Drive driving simulator; the Double Agent double laser maze; an extensive e-Sports LAN gaming zone; the Tiny Track Racers children’s karting simulators; a 4D cinema; a large indoor adventure climbing zone including eight activities; pool and billiard tables; private karaoke rooms and a retro arcade for a trip down memory lane to play timeless arcade classics such as Pac Man and Space Invaders. The new attraction also features Time Zombies in the Virtual Arena, the region’s first and only wireless VR-based first-person shooter, which premiered at this year’s Middle East Film & Comic Con. At the core of the Hub Zero offering is a collection of exhilarating rides and attractions based on some of the world’s most recognized video game brands. All IP owners – Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Capcom, KONAMI, Square Enix and PopCap – were involved from the very beginning to hand-pick the most popular games from their arsenal, and helped conceptualize and adapt these games into ground-breaking immersive attractions that will be offered at Hub Zero in city walk.
