As Pomellato marks the 15th anniversary of its Nudo collection, its creative director Vincenzo Castaldo gives a rare interview.
“The journey, not the center, is the goal,” says Castaldo, reflecting on his experience. Castaldo takes a similarly contemplative approach to Pomellato’s tactile designs, which feature seldom-used semiprecious stones like chrysoprase, tanzanite and color-change garnet. “A gem has its own profile and beauty that you need to exalt,” he says. “The process isn’t always logical. You have to let things happen.”
The brand was officially founded in 1967 by Pino Rabolini, who hailed from a family of goldsmiths.
