Christie’s has auctioned a $300,000 Hermès Birkin bag in its Hong Kong bureau – the most expensive ever. The rare Himalaya Birkin is made from specially dyed crocodile skin, to resemble the snowy peaks of the Himalayas. The cadena lock alone is comprised of 68.4 grams of 18-karat white gold and encrusted with 40 white round brilliant diamonds, totaling 1.64 carats.
